Interesting angle on Europeans winning most of the recent Australian Open Junior titles of the past decade, but there are several errors that leave doubts about the entire story.
Interesting angle on Europeans winning most of the recent Australian Open Junior titles of the past decade, but there are several errors that leave doubts about the entire story.
First, Kim is not through to the quarterfinals with his second win, as it is a 64 draw. Second, to call Yi a "compatriot" of the Korean Kim, when he comes from Chinese Taipei, is stretching the regional point beyond its limits.
I agree that Kim is the favorite, especially after avenging his Orange Bowl loss to Timothy Neilly last week, but he is hardly a number one seed with the aura of say, Federer. He survived a tough three set match with Jesse Levine in the first round, and he and Neilly could meet in the semis for a rubber match, which would no doubt be another three setter.
